OUR LEADERS
Our leaders are a group of passionate people for God, families and intergenerational connection. All leaders have a Working With Children's check to ensure your youth aged children are in safe, capable hands. They also have a passion for young people. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to seek out a leader. They will be very happy to answer any of your questions. We are so excited for your youth aged children to join us at Awakening!
WHAT TO EXPECT
As this is a youth program, we encourage your youth aged children to be in control of their own faith journey. Your youth will fill in their own enrolment form (and include your contact details too) and have the opportunity to check themselves in every fortnight during the school term. Our program runs with the purpose to mimic a Life Group. The youth will be in an environment every fortnight where they can have an in-depth conversation with their peers about the bible and biblical studies. Our church is in partnership with the Irresistible Church Network and therefore has access to the Orange Curriculum. This program encourages Life Group content and discussion as well.
WHAT IS AWAKENING
Awakening is our Youth Ministry program at Gawler Uniting Church for youth in years 7-12.. Our name is significant to us because as young Christians, it explains that we are still at the beginning of our journey. In this way, we are still "waking up" to see God's wonders. We have based our values around Jeremiah 29:13. "You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart". We want our youth to know that they are unconditionally loved, they are valued and they are important to God.
